HEIDI

European Health Forum Gastein

HEID or Health in Europe: Information and Data Interface is designed as a wikipedia for health and – at the moment in the test and pilot phase – enables everybody to find comparable European Health information and data free for use. Set up by the European Commission, DG Health and Consumers, the content is updated on voluntary basis by experts and health authorities, agencies and institutions in the EC countries.

It covers topics related to health status, determinants, systems and policies - you can find the information by the A-Z or by the Search.
Heidi aims to offer everyone up-to-date information about a comprehensive set of health issues at European level. Whether you want to know more about rare diseases or learn about the cancer burden in Europe.
For health experts, Heidi provides a tool for sharing, comparing and developing information across Europe. As a dynamic platform, Heidi enables users to correct or adjust existing information quickly and give feedback of its usefulness. Ultimately this information tool can help develop evidence-based policies to improve the health of Europeans.
Anyone with internet access can read Heidi wiki, but the access to edit and up-date information is reserved to health experts recognized in their field at European level. If you are a public health expert and would like to become a Heidi editor, you need a registration by the authorities of the European Commission. All information and the application form is given at
http://ec.europa.eu/health/heidi or contact tuuli-maria.mattila@ec.europa.eu
